Wine Cooler
Wine Cooler repair, diagnosed properly
Wine coolers are the appliance most repair companies decline, which is why we get calls about them from a long way out. Thermoelectric and compressor-based units fail differently, and dual-zone units add a second set of controls that can fail independently.
Common faults
Wine Cooler problems we fix
If you recognise the symptom, tell us when you call. It narrows the fault before we arrive.
Not holding temperature
On a compressor unit, the sealed system or the thermostat. On a thermoelectric unit, the Peltier module or its cooling fan. Same symptom, entirely different repair.
One zone works and the other doesn't
A dual-zone unit with an independent fault. Usually a fan, damper or sensor on the affected side rather than the whole cooling system.
Condensation or moisture inside
A door seal that has stopped sealing, or a blocked drain. Left alone it damages labels and eventually the interior.
Fan runs constantly and never stops
A temperature sensor reading wrong, or restricted ventilation around a built-in unit that can't shed heat.
Unit is louder than it used to be
A cooling or circulation fan on its way out. Worth doing before it stops entirely.
Interior light stays on or won't come on
Door switch or LED driver. Minor, but a light stuck on adds heat the unit then has to fight.
How we diagnose it
The $89 tells you what's actually wrong
The first thing we establish is whether the unit is thermoelectric or compressor-based, because it changes the entire diagnostic path. On built-ins we check ventilation clearance, since a cooler installed into cabinetry without adequate airflow will keep failing whatever we replace.
You get a firm price before any work starts, and the $89 comes straight off the bill when you go ahead.
- 1We find the fault
Tested, not guessed at.
- 2You get a firm price
Before anything is opened up.
- 3You decide
Including when we say don't.
- 4Backed 90 days
Parts and labor both.

Questions
Wine Cooler repair questions
Do you repair built-in and dual-zone wine coolers?
Yes, both, including units that other repair services turn down.
Is a wine cooler worth repairing?
Frequently, yes — especially built-in units, where replacement means cabinetry work on top of the appliance cost.
My cooler is in a cabinet and keeps failing. Is it the unit?
Possibly not. Built-in coolers need specific ventilation clearance, and one that can't shed heat will keep failing whatever gets replaced. We check that first.
Do you work on beverage centres and under-counter refrigeration too?
Yes, the same principles apply and they're a regular part of our work.

★★★★★Extremely happy with response and service quality. Expecting to leave a message because it was Memorial Day, I was pleasantly surprised when the phone was answered. Appointment made for the next day for my washing machine which was making ugly noises. John arrived right on time and discovered what turned out to be a foreign object under the drum - then charged me only for the call out which was a bargain. Honest and fast and responsive.
